With Sen. Lindsey Graham serving as the new chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s ailing health, Democrats are conjuring up a vicious smear campaign against the South Carolina Republican.
This week, a newly-elected Democratic lawmaker and liberals in the media spread a conspiracy theory that Graham is “compromised” or “bought” because he has been agreeing with President Donald Trump.
Tuesday - Rep - Ilhan - Omar - D-Minn
On Tuesday, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn, tweeted “They got him, he is compromised!” in response to a video clip of Graham in 2015 speaking ill of Trump.
When Omar spoke with CNN on Thursday morning and was asked about her tweet, she claimed “lots of Americans” agree with her that Trump is blackmailing Graham for allegedly being a homosexual.

When grilled by CNN hosts Poppy Harlow and Jim Sciutto on her claim, Omar struggled mightily to explain her tweet.
Omar also attempted to defend her claim by saying it was based on “polling in his district,” which raises more questions about why people in Minnesota would be asked about a South Carolina lawmaker being “compromised.”

The Muslim lawmaker eventually admitted that there’s no evidence to support her claim and that it was just her “opinion.”
Omar’s unsubstantiated accusation on Tuesday came hours after MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle implied that Trump has “kompromat” on Graham.

“It could be that Donald Trump or somebody knows something pretty extreme about Lindsey Graham,” Ruhle said, suggesting Graham is only siding with Trump lately because he has something to be guilty about.
Ruhle’s accusation and Omar’s unsubstantiated claims followed another unverified allegation from Jon Cooper, a super PAC Democratic official.
