Mariah Carey's former assistant sues singer for battery and racial discrimination

Mariah Carey's former executive assistant is 'traumatized' by the singer's decision to sue over allegations of attempted extortion, DailyMail.com can reveal – and has now filed a suit of her own claiming racial discrimination and battery.

A source close to Lianna Shakhnazarian, 36, described Carey's lawsuit as 'nasty' and 'frivolous' and said the diva's claims are 'totally false'.

Case - Los - Angeles - Wednesday - Afternoon

The new case, which was filed in Los Angeles late on Wednesday afternoon, accuses both Carey and her former manager Stella Bulochnikov of 'severely inappropriate behavior' and of causing Shakhnazarian 'emotional turmoil.'

Carey is also being sued for wrongful termination, while both are facing claims of racial discrimination - with Shakhnazarian alleging Bulochnikov called her an 'Armenian w****' and a 'f***ing n****r' in front of the singer.

Bulochnikov - Assault - Penchant - Breasts - Buttocks

Bulochnikov also stands accused of sexual assault due to an alleged penchant for slapping the 36-year-old's breasts and buttocks, and of humiliating her by placing objects such as TV remotes, iPhones and kitchen utensils beneath her breasts.

According to the lawsuit, Carey also committed battery on Shakhnazarian by subjecting her to 'aggressive, abusive and harmful physical conduct'.

Shakhnazarian, who also uses the last name Azarian, worked for Carey, 48, between March 2015 and November 2017 and was paid a salary of $328,500 per year.

But according to Carey's lawsuit, which was filed in New York on Wednesday morning, their relationship soured after she noticed the former retail assistant allegedly spending money on her credit card.

And when she confronted her, it was to discover that the 36-year-old had been secretly filming her in 'intimate' moments, according to the singer's lawyers.

According to Carey, Shakhnazarian then threatened to release the videos unless she was paid $8m.

The singer, who is demanding damages of up to $3m, also accused the 36-year-old of using her name to acquire large discounts from retailers when purchasing personal items.
