Katie Price's fans have warned of the danger of salmonella after the former glamour model posted a snap of her son Jett holding a turtle.
The 40-year-old reality star's fans flocked to social media after Katie shared a photo of Jett, five, appearing to be about to plant a kiss on the tiny reptile which he held between his thumb and forefinger.

A proud Katie wrote: 'Sooo cute Jett holding Harvey’s turtle named Gummy Bear.'
But it wasn't long before the brunette beauty was flooded with comments from her 1.9m Instagram followers, some who agreed with the 'cuteness' of the photo, while others were worried that Jett could become ill from contact with the turtle.

According to the FDA and other websites, turtles commonly carry salmonella bacteria on their outer skin and shell surfaces.
The risk came when people are exposed to a small turtle by touching, feeding, cleaning the habitat, or changing the water in the tank.
