Does the ruling have something to do with the recent spat between the President and Chief Justice? No, actually, it has to do with US law regarding asylum claims, according to the Washington Times. And the Supreme Court’s ruling wasn’t the only bad news coming out of the courts this last week.
The Supreme Court ruled that while other legal challenges were going through the courts, the lower court injunction against the asylum ban would be upheld. Meanwhile on Thursday, the Trump administration released a “deal” with Mexico that would hold asylum seekers in Mexico while their claims are going through the courts. Attorneys have vowed to sue over that rule as well.
