Oh Holy One.

Night - Year

The longest night of the year.

we pause.

We look up:

from our own unholy expectations of What Should Be.

Winter - Sky

visible in the winter sky.

the moon, just about full.


We light a candle or two.

nurture, rest, mystery.



than we had imagined we would.


but your promise still lives.

spinning, turning, blossoming.


and day is dawning.

The wait is almost over.

and we are breathing with her.

then louder and stronger.

Round - Trees

rising round over the trees.
