It was recently revealed that he spent some time with his former Game Of Thrones co-stars, as they shot a secret reunion special in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

But on Wednesday, Sean Bean was spotted working on a brand new project as he shot scenes for the BBC's epic World War II drama World On Fire in Manchester.

Actor - Figure - Spearmint - Shirt - Grey

The 59-year-old actor cut a stylish figure in a spearmint shirt and grey cardigan, teamed with baggy green trousers and a grey flat cap as he got into character alongside Julia Brown outside the city's high-security Strangeways Prison.

Wrapping up in a black coat, he appeared to be in an upbeat mood as he strolled long the streets to shoot scenes for the anticipated seven-part miniseries.

BBC - World - Fire - Drama - Year

BBC describes World On Fire as a drama 'following the first year of WWII told through the intertwining fates of ordinary people drawn from Britain, Poland, France, Germany and the United States' dealing with the war's effect on their lives.

Filming for the series, which was written by Peter Bowker, kicked off in September in Prague, with other locations including Paris, as well as Manchester.
