RZA On The Search For A Director For Long-Awaited Ol’ Dirty **** Biopic

We first reported about a potential film based on the life of famous Wu-Tang rapper Ol’ Dirty ****, aka ODB, way back in 2009. Almost a decade ago, one of the founding members of Wu-Tang, RZA was attempting to get a film made. Then a few years later, in 2012, it was reported that Michael K. Williams was signed on to star in the film, and the members of the legendary rap group would play themselves. But ever since then, there’s been no word. Well, RZA is back at it and is really serious about bringing the story of ODB to the big screen.

According to THR, RZA is putting together a new version of the film at Sony and is currently on the search for a director to bring his vision to life. Because of the success of “Straight Outta Compton,” it appears that Hollywood is finally warming up to the idea of bringing Russell Tyrone Jones’ (ODB) amazing story, which ended tragically in 2004 due to a drug overdose, to life.
