White House press secretary Sarah Sanders has had multiple squabbles with the media and their reporting on the Trump administration.

In May, she doubled down on President Donald Trump’s comments about MS-13 gang members who are in the country illegally. “You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals,” he said.

News - Outlets - Animals - Comment - Immigrants

After numerous news outlets reported that the “animals” comment was directed at all immigrants, Sanders said, “The president was very clearly referring to MS-13 gang members who enter the country illegally and whose deportations are hamstrung by our laws. This is one of the most vicious and deadly gangs that operates by the motto of rape, control and kill.”

“If the media and liberals want to defend MS-13, they’re more than welcome to,” she added.

White - House - Press - Secretary - Arguments

The White House press secretary has also had multiple arguments with CNN’s chief White House correspondent, Jim Acosta. In one instance in February, Acosta questioned one of Trump’s tweets that said, “Peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation.”

The CNN reporter wondered aloud whether Trump’s response had anything to do with the allegations of sexual misconduct the president himself has faced. Acosta asked, “Why is he seemingly defending Mr. Porter publicly? Is it because he has faced his own allegations? Is there some sensitivity there?”

President - Administration - Take - Violence - Allegations

“Look, as I just said, and I’ll repeat it again, the president and the entire administration take domestic violence very seriously, and believe all allegations need to be investigated thoroughly,” Sanders said. “He certainly supports the victims of domestic violence above all else, and believes that everyone should be treated fairly and with due process.”
