The coach for the Republican congressional baseball team asked President Trump to attend the annual game on Thursday, the anniversary of last year's shooting that wounded Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) and several others.
"I asked him to come, I guess it was last week, I was over at the Oval Office. He said, 'I'll be there,'" Rep. Roger Williams (R-Texas) told The Associated Press.
