As it turns out, maybe these are the droids you're looking for: Ewan McGregor will return to the Star Wars universe to star as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a new Disney+ series focused on the legendary Jedi, Disney announced during D23 on Friday.

Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy confirmed the news at the end of the Star Wars portion of the Disney+ presentation, ending long-standing rumors that something involving McGregor was in the works. The actor appeared on-stage to say, "Yes, we're going to do it!" after years of lying about whether or not he'd be reprising the role. (McGregor first played Obi-Wan in the Star Wars prequel films, The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith. The character was originated by Sir Alec Guinness in the original Star Wars film, Star Wars - Episode IV: A New Hope.
